Developmental Playgroups

We Care Services for Children has partnered with First 5 Contra Costa to offer Developmental Playgroups designed for children who would benefit from a little boost in overcoming developmental delays.

We Care’s Developmental Playgroups are facilitated by an early childhood specialist and teacher associate who will support the development of each child and guide parents in ways to bring the lessons home. Playgroups are designed to provide fun, educational and interactive play that will help children:

• Increase language and social skills
• Improve problem-solving and imaginary play skills
• Develop body awareness, balance, and coordination
• Prepare for preschool and beyond

The playgroups will also provide parents:

• Weekly parent education topics
• Individualized feedback and home activities for each child

Parents or caregivers attend each 1.5-hour weekly session with their children over an eight-week period, at either the Pittsburg or Delta First 5 Centers.
